JVC’s latest D-ILA projector, the DLA-NZ900 is packed with image quality technology to give consumers a true cinematic experience at home. A recent firmware update gives a boost to the image quality of HDR images.

JVC’s original BLU-Escent Laser light source has been optimized to achieve exceptional peak brightness of 3,300 lumens with longevity of 20,000 hours. Housed in a compact casing, the laser light engine provides higher light output, greater efficiency, and quieter operation. The third-generation 0.69-inch native 4K D-ILA device produces a native contrast ratio of 150,000:1.

The DLA-NX900 projector accepts both 4K and 8K signals, and the latest Gen2 8K/e-shiftX high-resolution display technology uses a 240Hz driver with 4-way, multi-axis shift to flash the screen four times to deliver 8K resolution.

The Smoother function, which has been added to JVC’s proprietary super resolution circuitry MPC (Multiple Pixel Control), can effectively control the “banding artifact” generated as a result of video data compression. The Smoother function can produce a much more realistic and smoother 8K image. A new addition to the proprietary Frame Adapt HDR is the HDR Vivid picture mode, which improves the detail in the lighter areas and darkens the darker areas to increase the sense of contrast and saturation of the entire image. Additionally, in conjunction with the Highlight Color Control function, it is possible to achieve vivid HDR images with fine details even in scenes with high contrast.

A new image quality mode called the Highlight Color Control function in Frame Adapt HDR optimizes the balance between the brightness and saturation in scenes with high intensity. The mode can be selected from three levels of Low, Mid and High to perform flexible adjustment that matches the viewing environment, user preferences and content characteristics.

Finally, the DLA-NZ900 projector is ideal for gaming content. ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) kicks in automatically when a gaming console or gaming PC is connected to the projector to improve speed and improve the responsiveness of the gaming experience on a large scenario.
