Vivitek has recently announced the launch of its latest installation laser projector, DU9900Z. The projector offers edge-blending and warping technology, motorized lens shift/focus/zoom and lens position memory. This new single-chip DLP laser projector is geared towards rental, staging, outdoor and large venue applications.
The DU9900Z has 22,000 lumens of brightness, a 3,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and WUXGA resolution. It is also compatible with multiple optional lenses, offers 360-degree and portrait projection, and is suitable for 24/7 operation. In Eco mode, this equates to a 30,000-hour lifespan. Useful installation features include edge-blending and warping technology, motorized lens shift/focus/zoom, 4-corner keystone correction and lens position memory capabilities. With HDBaseT connectivity, signals can be easily transmitted to the projector over long distances via an HDBaseT cable and a standard Cat5e/6-LAN interface that has been integrated in the DU9900Z for digital audio content. In addition, the projector has a 3G-SDI connector, which allows a camera to be used as an image source.
The DU9900Z has been engineered to support Art-Net, a royalty-free communication protocol that enables DMX512-A and RDM (Remote Device Management), as well as lighting data to be viewed over an ethernet network. Previously, a systems integrator would need to build two control systems with two operators — one for lighting, and one for the projector. With Art-Net, integrators now only need to build one system to control the lighting and the projector at the same time, with the projector responding immediately via a compiler program with DMX. The DU9900Z also supports Vivitek’s Projector Control tool, which allows options for viewing settings such as scheduling, and supports display adjustment features that can be controlled over a network. It also allows users to control multiple projectors remotely, and users can also set up projector groups for simultaneous projector control.
