SHARP has added their first 4K UHD resolution model to its interactive AQUOS BOARD® line of displays. The new model, PN-L705H, is a 70-inch class LCD panel with Sharp’s capacitive touch technology. This new model is the most sophisticated one yet in the AQUOS BOARD lineup and offers several notable features to benefit collaborative work or interactive digital signage applications.
The PN-L705H features Sharp’s Pen-on-Paper™ user experience, exclusive to the Sharp AQUOS BOARD interactive display series. This feature provides writing comfort close to using a pen to write on paper. It has an automatic palm cancellation function which allows users to write with their palm resting on the surface, thus making it easier to write or draw fine details on the screen. This function recognizes and prioritizes the touch pen’s 2-mm pressure sensitive pen tip and is beneficial for applications that require precise detail and superior interactivity. Another aid to the Pen-on-Paper™ user experience, along with enhancing image clarity, is how the protective glass layer is bonded directly to the LCD panel so that there is no air gap between them. The elimination of this gap reduces the reflection and refraction of light and provides a more natural touch performance. An anti-glare film on the surface is added to resist scratches and fingerprints.
The display recognizes up to 30 touch points and allows up to four users to interact with it at once with either a finger or touch pen. The Bluetooth® active multifunctional touch pen (PN-ZL06) is comfortable to hold and also serves as a virtual pointer and as a control for frequently used functions. One touch pen is included with each display, but additional pens can be ordered.
The PN-L705H interactive display can be installed in various orientations, such as landscape, portrait or horizontal (face-up) and in various configurations, such as linking up to three displays side-by-side with its Multi-Board Function. For further versatility, the PN-L705H can be connected to four PCs and display full-HD content from each PC simultaneously in each quadrant of the screen with its quad-screen display function. The display is easily switchable between single-screen and quad-screen views.
The PN-L705H has a choice of three different optional boards for its Intel® Mini-OPS Expansion Slot. One is a wireless expansion board which allows up to 10 devices to connect wirelessly to the PN-L705H. Another is an HDBaseT™ board that enables A/V and control signals to come in over a single LAN cable from up to 100 meters away. The third is a computing board, which provides an on-board PC featuring an Intel Celeron N3160 processor and stunning 4K graphics engine, 4GB of memory, a 64GB solid state drive, and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise.
The display comes bundled with a CD-ROM which makes available Sharp’s Touch Viewer™ software and Sharp’s Display Connect™ software for download. These programs enhance convenience, ease of use and connectivity between users and devices. The display is also compatible with Sharp’s multifunction printers (MFPs) and Crestron Connected™ software.
