At the CEDIA tradeshow this week, Christie will offer the native 4K CP4415m-RGBH projector to residential installers for the first time. While the three-chip DLP Cinema projector has already been installed in commercial theaters, Christie is now making it available for premium residential cinema installations. The projector weighs 132 pounds, draws roughly 1,060 watts, has a self-contained liquid cooling system, offers 15,000 lumens of brightness and can achieve a screen size up to 52 feet wide.

The native 4K projector uses a 0.98-inch 4K SST three-chip DLP Cinema imaging system with native 4096 x 2160 resolution. Each primary color gets its own DMD, eliminating the color wheel and any pixel shifting required to generate a 4K image. Christie’s Phazer hybrid laser illumination system delivers up to 15,000 lumens with a high-brightness cinema lens and reproduces DCI-P3 color, and the laser is rated for more than 50,000 hours. Contrast is rated as high as 6,000:1 full on/off.

The CP4415m-RGBH has a fully enclosed optical engine that isolates key optical components from external dust and particles. By protecting the light path, and optical lenses, the sealed projection technology will maintain a consistent image performance throughout the lifespan of the projector.

Christie also incorporates Electronic Color Convergence, LiteLOC white-point tracking, a motorized Intelligent Lens System, and its CineLife+ electronics platform. According to Christie, LiteLOC maintains color balance and brightness as the laser source ages.

The projector can handle very high bitrate content at up to 4K/120Hz, as long as the source can output that native content. This means the 4K/120Hz spec apply, when the projector is paired with a high-end integrated media server, and not through an HDMI 2.1 input from a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X meaning the CP4415m-RGBH is designed for cinema, and not necessarily gaming.

Christie currently lists the CP4415m-RGBH at $68,900.
