At InfoComm 2026, Panasonic announced a new projector designed for immersive experiences. The single-chip DLP RGB MEVIX PT-HTQ20 laser projector delivers up to 20,000 lumens of brightness and 4K output, making it a solid choice for location-based entertainment, sports simulation, house of worship and immersive museums.
It is also the first Panasonic projector to support the Rec. 2020 color gamut standard with VIVID PRIME RGB laser technology. This means it can achieve over 95 percent Rec. 2020 coverage for ultra-high-definition imaging. As immersive entertainment venues advance their experiences to meet evolving audience expectations, this capability is critical to ensure high visual quality and color reproduction, without complicating installation or inhibiting flexibility for production teams. In addition, with color brightness approaching 3-Chip DLP models, the proprietary RGB-plus-phosphor design maintains smooth gradations for Rec. 709 content and reduces image rainbow effects.
In addition, the PT-HTQ20 retains many features characteristic of Panasonic’s MEVIX 3-Chip DLP lineup. It is compatible with the same Panasonic lenses used in their 3-Chip DLP projectors, has Auto Lens Identification, and supports Panasonic’s Visual Software Suite and Remote Preview functions
The PT-HTQ20 utilizes proprietary coating on key PCBs to improve resistance to dust and humidity, has a mechanical shutter, and an Intel SDM standard-compatible slot for optional function boards (including ET-SBFMP10 media processor). It includes remote control/monitoring software, a filter-less design, and redundancy features such as Multi-Laser Drive Engine failover and Backup Input. The MEVIX PT-HTQ20 also supports high frame rate of 2K/240 Hz playback and maintains full brightness on AC 120-240 V power.
Panasonic expects the MEVIX PT-HTQ20 projector to ship in the fourth quarter of 2026.
