For more than 15 years now, PMA Research has collected monthly sell-through data from leading North American projector dealers, retailers, web resellers and distributors. Their Tracking Service family of monthly reports offers timely data and analysis on unit sales, true volume-weighted street prices, and inventories of front projectors for these channels.
Each month, PMA Research posts the “Top 5” Projector Lists for the following product categories:
High-End Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Pro AV Projector Tracking Service sample, which is made up of North American dealers and integrators. For High-End projectors, NEC filled two of the “Top 5” spots with the NP-PA401W and the NP-PA550W-13ZL in the number one and five spots, respectively. Epson rounded out the High-End list with a trio of projectors – the PowerLite 1940W, PowerLite 1945W and the PowerLite Pro G6450WU – in the second, third and fourth spots.
Mainstream Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Distributor Projector Tracking Service sample, which is made up of North American distributors. For the Mainstream segment, InFocus took top honors with the best-selling IN114 in November. ViewSonic landed in the number two spot with the PJD5132, and Mitsubishi took the third spot with their HC7900DW. Sharp’s PG-LW2000 filled the fourth position, and NEC rounded out this “Top 5” list with the NP-VE281X.
Pico and Personal Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Retail Projector Tracking Service sample, which is made up of North American retailers and web resellers. For Pico and Personal projectors, the November results showed Optoma took top honors with the PK-320 for the second month in a row. 3M held on to the number two spot with the MP410, and AAXA once again took the third spot with their P2 Jr. Vivitek moved up to the fourth spot with the Qumi Q2, and ViewSonic rounded out the “Top 5” with their PLED-W200.
