Their Tracking Service family of monthly reports offers timely data and analysis on unit sales, true volume-weighted street prices, and inventories of front projectors for these channels.
Each month, PMA Research posts the “Top 5” Projector Lists for the following product categories:
Home Entertainment Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Retail Projector Tracking Service sample, which is made up of North American retailers and web resellers. For Home Entertainment projectors, the January results showed BenQ with two projectors in the “Top 5”. The BenQ W1070 took top honors, and the W1080ST filled the third spot. Optoma’s HD131XE was the second best-selling projector in January. Epson rounded out the list with a pair of best-sellers in the number four and five spots – the PowerLite Home Cinema 500 Silver and the PowerLite Home Cinema 730HD, respectively.
Mainstream Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Distributor Projector Tracking Service sample, which is made up of North American distributors. For the Mainstream segment, InFocus took top honors with the best-selling IN112 for the second month in a row. Epson also had two top-sellers with the PowerLite X17 and the PowerLite 97 filling the number two and four spots, respectively. NEC’s NP-M311X came in third, and Viewsonic rounded out this “Top 5” list with the PJD5134.
High-End Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Pro AV Projector Tracking Service sample, which is made up of North American dealers and integrators. For High-End projectors, Optoma took top honors in January with the EH501 coming in first. NEC followed with the NP-P401W in second, and Vivitek’s D963HD filled the third spot. Sony’s VPL-FHZ55/W came in fourth, and Epson’s PowerLite 1945W rounded out this “Top 5” list.
