Each month, PMA Research posts their “Top 5” Projector Lists for the following categories:
Home Entertainment Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Retail Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of U.S. retailers and web resellers. In the Home Entertainment projector category, Optoma’s HD142X was the best-selling projector in August. BenQ followed with the HT2050 coming in second. Epson rounded out this category with a trio of PowerLite Home Cinema models – the 740HD, the 1040 and the 640 coming in third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
Mainstream Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Distributor Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of U.S. AV and IT distributors. Among Mainstream projectors, Epson swept the “Top 5” list in the Mainstream category in August. Two BrightLink models – the 695Wi and the 685Wi came in first and second, respectively. The PowerLite 97H, VS240 and the PowerLite X27 followed in third, fourth and fifth place on PMA’s “Top 5” list for August.
4,000+ Lumen Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Pro AV Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of U.S. AV dealers and systems integrators. In the 4,000+ Lumen projector category, the August results showed Sony with the best-selling model – the VPL-PHZ10. Epson followed with a trio of projectors making this “Top 5” list August. Epson’s PowerLite 2250U, BrightLink 697Ui and PowerLite Pro G7400U came in second, third and fourth, respectively. Optoma rounded out this “Top 5” list with the EH416 taking the fifth spot.
