San Juan Capistrano, California – December 20, 2017. PMA Research (PMA), the worldwide market information experts on large displays, has published their latest set of sell-through tracking reports on large-format (32” and larger) flat panel displays being sold by leading U.S. AV/IT Distributors and Pro AV dealers and integrators who serve commercial markets.
For Professional models 50-inches and above, the November PMA Research Tracking report for the AV/IT Distribution channel showed Sharp with the two best-selling models. The PN-LE701 and PN-LE601 came in first and second, respectively. Samsung followed with a pair of models – the DM55E and QM65H – coming in third and fourth, respectively. LG rounded out this “Top 5” list with their 55LV340C.
In the Distribution channel, the year-to-date growth rate for all flat panels (32” and larger) is 16% ahead in sales volume and 12% ahead in revenue compared to November YTD 2016. The growth was in several segments of the market, but most notably in the sale of 24/7 models which have grown to 30% market share up from 25% a year ago; and in a significant increase in 4K UHD sales that now represent 12% of the total volume, up from 3% a year ago
For Professional models 50-inches and above, the November PMA Research Tracking report for the Pro AV channel showed LG taking top honors with the best-selling 55LV340C. Samsung followed in second with the QM65H, and AVer took the third spot with their interactive IFCP654I0 display. Sharp rounded out the Pro AV list with a pair of models – the PN-LE801 and PN-LE701 – coming in fourth and fifth, respectively.
In the Pro AV channel, despite a 4Q slowdown, the year-to-date growth rate for professional models is solidly positive, running 40% ahead in volume and 22% ahead in revenue compared to YTD November 2016. Larger screen sizes and support for 24/7 account for some of this growth, but the biggest contributor is the increase in interactive display sales which have grown 80% in this channel since November 2016.
