For more than 16 years now, PMA Research has collected monthly sell-through data from leading North American projector dealers, retailers, web resellers and distributors. Their Tracking Service family of monthly reports offers timely data and analysis on unit sales, true volume-weighted street prices, and inventories of front projectors for these channels.
Each month, PMA Research posts the “Top 5” Projector Lists for the following product categories:
Pico and Personal Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Retail Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of North American retailers and web resellers. For Pico and Personal projectors, the June results showed AAXA with a trio of best-selling models. The AAXA P4-X, P300 Pico and the P2 Jr. came in first, second and third, respectively. Optoma filled the fourth spot with the ML750, and Asus rounded out this “Top 5” list with their S1 projector.
Mainstream Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Distributor Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of North American distributors. For the Mainstream segment, Epson had three of the five best-selling projectors in June with the PowerLite 99W, PowerLite 98, and BrightLink 585Wi coming in first, second and fourth, respectively. InFocus filled the remaining two spots on this “Top 5” list with the IN114a in the third spot and the IN112a coming in fifth.
High-End Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Pro AV Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of North American dealers and integrators. For High-End projectors, Epson also took three of the “Top 5” spots with the best-selling PowerLite 1940W coming in first, and the PowerLite 1960 and the PowerLite 1945W coming in third and fourth, respectively. Hitachi took second place in the High-End segment with the CP-X4015WN. Optoma rounded out this “Top 5” list with the EH501.
