For more than 16 years now, PMA Research has collected monthly sell-through data from leading North American projector dealers, retailers, web resellers and distributors. Their Tracking Service family of monthly reports offers timely data and analysis on unit sales, true volume-weighted street prices, and inventories of front projectors for these channels.
Each month, PMA Research posts the “Top 5” Projector Lists for the following channels:
Retail Projector Sales – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Retail Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of North American retailers and web resellers. In the Retail channel, Epson took three of the “Top 5” spots with the VS230 coming in first, and the PowerLite 97 and the EX3220 coming in third and fourth, respectively. ViewSonic took second place with the PJD5134, and BenQ rounded out this “Top 5” list with the W1070 filling the fifth spot.
Pro A/V Projector Sales – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Pro A/V Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of North American dealers and integrators. In the Pro A/V channel, Epson also took three of the “Top 5” spots. The PowerLite 97 came in first, and the PowerLite 585W and the PowerLite 98 came in third and fifth, respectively. Hitachi rounded out this “Top 5” list with two projectors, the CP-X2530WN and the CP-AW3003, coming in second and fifth, respectively.
Distribution Projector Sales – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Distributor Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of North American A/V and IT distributors. In the Distribution channel, the September results showed InFocus with the top two best-selling models – the IN114a and the IN112a. Epson followed with the PowerLite 97 in third and the PowerLite X17 in fourth. Boxlight rounded out this “Top 5” list with their Boston X32NST projector coming in fifth.
