For more than 16 years now, PMA Research has collected monthly sell-through data from leading North American projector dealers, retailers, web resellers and distributors. Their Tracking Service family of monthly reports offers timely data and analysis on unit sales, true volume-weighted street prices, and inventories of front projectors for these channels.
Each month, PMA Research posts the “Top 5” Projector Lists for the following product categories:
Home Entertainment Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Retail Projector Tracking Service sample, which is made up of North American retailers and web resellers. For Home Entertainment projectors, the February results showed BenQ with the number one selling model, the BenQ W1070, for the second month in a row. Optoma’s HD131XE was the second best-selling projector, also for the second straight month. Epson filled the number three and four spots with the PowerLite Home Cinema 2000 and the PowerLite Home Cinema 500 Silver, respectively. Mitsubishi rounded out the “Top 5” with the HC7900DW.
Mainstream Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Distributor Projector Tracking Service sample, which is made up of North American distributors. For the Mainstream segment, InFocus took top honors with the best-selling IN112 for the second month in a row. Epson’s PowerLite 97 came in second in February. Viewsonic filled the number three and four spots with the PJD5134 and PJD5132, respectively. NEC rounded out this “Top 5” list with the NP-VE281X.
High-End Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Pro AV Projector Tracking Service sample, which is made up of North American dealers and integrators. For High-End projectors, Hitachi took top honors in February with the CP-X4015WN coming in first. Epson followed with the PowerLite Pro G6750WU in second, and also took the fourth spot with the PowerLite 1945W. Vivitek’s D963HD filled the third spot, and NEC’s NP-PA550W-13ZL rounded out this “Top 5” list.
