San Juan Capistrano, California – October 27, 2022. PMA Research (PMA), the worldwide market information experts on large displays, has published their latest All-Displays sell-through tracking report on professional large-format flat panel displays (32” and larger) and professional projectors (above 500 lumens) being sold by leading U.S. Distributors who serve commercial markets.
Revenues were flat compared to last quarter, but up 25% over last year. There were strong improvements in projector sales, particularly for laser projectors, though supply problems still plague this segment. Flat panel display sales softened compared to last quarter and last year as supply caught up with backorders early in the quarter.
The big push to fill back orders on projectors shifted the mix toward projection in the third quarter. If supplies had been available, that shift would have been much more pronounced given the projector order backlog.
Supply remains tight for projectors, particularly for the value segment, so prices held firm most of the quarter. Flat panel display pricing began to fall in August and September especially for 75-inch and 85-inch displays.
In the flat panel display market, demand has been largely driven by the education market. Corporate and government markets have remained soft to date in 2022. A high concentration of iFPDs in the flat panel product mix boosted revenues in this segment.
PMA’s monthly All-Displays Distributor Tracking report offers timely sell-through data and analysis on unit sales and market trends of projectors and large-format flat panel displays sold by leading U.S. AV and IT Distributors. These reports are ideal for tracking product and channel trends.
