San Juan Capistrano, California – July 29, 2021. PMA Research (PMA), the worldwide market information experts on large displays, has published their latest All-Displays sell-through tracking report on professional large-format flat panel displays (32” and larger) and professional projectors (above 500 lumens) being sold by leading U.S. Distributors who serve commercial markets.
Combined professional projector and flat panel display unit sales through distribution rose nearly 50% over the first quarter of 2021 and grew by nearly 60% over 2Q2020, the first quarter of the pandemic. In fact, display unit sales are now hovering near 2Q2019 levels. Revenues fared equally well, up close to 40% from both last quarter and 2Q2020. There were strong improvements in laser phosphor projector sales and +70-inch flat panel display sales this quarter, both popular AV choices in the education market.
It is note-worthy that demand outstripped supply in the second quarter for both projectors and flat panel displays. June demand was particularly strong in education; however, supply restrictions and allocations forced some buyers to opt for alternate models.
PMA’s monthly All-Displays Distributor Tracking report offers timely sell-through data and analysis on unit sales and market trends of projectors and large-format flat panel displays sold by leading U.S. AV and IT Distributors. These reports are ideal for tracking product and channel trends.
