Sharp NEC Display Solutions of America recently added the new NC603L and the NC1503L laser projectors to their Digital Cinema Projector Series. The 14,000 lumen, 2K NC1503L offers the latest RB Laser Phosphor technology for a speckle-free, high-quality image. The 6,000 lumen, 2K NC603L utilizing blue laser with phosphor offers the same speckle-free high-quality images for small screens.
With no external chiller and Laser Phosphor technology, the new NC603L and NC1503L Laser Projectors offer flexible installation and cost saving benefits. The smaller sized cabinets allow for ceiling mount installation within the theater or projection booth. The Laser technology produces less heat than conventional lamp projectors, thus lowering the HVAC requirements both in the projection booth and theater. This offers a lower operational cost for both new builds and retrofit projects.
The new NC603L and NC1503L feature laser light sources for theaters with small to mid-sized screens looking for high-quality cinema projection. These projectors offer maintenance-free operation and approximately 50,000 hours of lifetime, resulting in an overall lower total cost of ownership. The new projectors are Digital Cinema Institute (DCI) compliant. The NC603L can project a theater-quality image that is bright enough to display 14 ft-L on screens up to 36.1ft./11m. The same is true for the NC1503L on screens up to 55.4ft./16.9m in DCI color.
The new NC Series Cinema projectors feature Sharp/NEC’s patented heat exchanger, along with a newly developed and sealed optical engine. Airborne contaminants cannot penetrate the optical engine therefore preserving the image quality throughout the life of the projector. With remarkably low noise levels the NC1503L (50dB) and NC603L (39dB) will not create a distraction when mounted in the theater.
Finally, direct selection buttons can accommodate eight stored projector configurations, while auto brightness controls maintain constant brightness by adjusting the laser power as the light source ages. A memory function for lens position and light output simplifies frequent operation and a complete line of bayonet-style lenses with electronic zoom, focus and lens shift are available.
