Sharp NEC Display Solutions Europe announced the launch of its new NEC PV800UL laser projector, which will be available in March 2023. The brighter PV800UL installation projector and its sister model, the PV710UL, are both compact in design, supporting flexible installations with wide lens selection and other key built-in features including ProAssist support for easy control and geometric image adjustments. Sharp/NEC has geared this projector towards use in higher education as well as the leisure and hospitality markets.
The Sharp NEC PV800UL laser projector has up to 8,000 ANSI lumens brightness and uses a laser light source, with an expected lifespan of 20,000 hours. It utilizes 3LCD technology, has 1920 x 1200 resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio. It is also extremely quiet – rated at just 33dB. Screen size capability of this new projector allow for images from 40 to 500-inches wide, from a distance of 2.3 to 167 feet from the screen making this new model ideal for a variety of large venue and installation scenarios.
The compact model comes with many built-in capabilities geared towards flexible installations. These include a wide lens option and geometric image correction to eliminate spatial distortions in the projected images. This new model is fully compatible with previous generation lamp-based PA Series mechanical lenses and lens mounts so users can easily upgrade from previous lamp-based Sharp/NEC models.
The PV800UL offers a wide range of connectivity options including HDBase-T, HDMI supporting HDCP 1.4, multiple audio inputs and outputs, as well as RS-232, RJ-45 and USB 2.0.
