Optoma recently announced two new lamp-based DLP projectors – the Optoma W512 and EH512 – designed for use in higher education, museums, houses of worship and other large-venue professional settings. The Optoma W512 and EH512 tout powerful image performance with flexible installation features, PC-free presentation capabilities and extensive connectivity options to meet a wide variety of projection needs.
With a 1.6X zoom, vertical lens shift, four corner correction and full RS-232C control, the Optoma W512 and EH512 offer maximum installation flexibility, for use in a wide variety of classroom, corporate and professional applications. The projectors are also equipped with a PC-free USB image viewer and office document reader, enabling easy connectivity with USB storage devices for easy playback of audio, images and other files. The Optoma W512 and EH512 offer a wide variety of connectivity options, as well as wireless presentation and display capabilities with HDCast Pro functions for Android, Mac OS and Windows devices. In addition, both projectors feature LAN display, which supports up to four simultaneous computer presentations.
The Optoma W512 has WXGA resolution (1280 x 800) and a brightness of 5,500 ANSI lumens. The Optoma EH512 projector has full 1080p HD image and a brightness of 5,000 lumens. Additional specs for both models include vertical and horizontal keystone Correction of +/- 20 degrees, 16% vertical Lens Shift: 16% and two built in 10W speakers. The new Optoma projectors are currently shipping. The W512 is available at an MSRP of $999, and the EH512 has an MSRP of $1399.
Display industry analyst firm PMA Research follows the Projector market. Findings from their August 2018 US Projector Distributor Tracking Service reports showed strong same month, year-over-year growth for the professional projector segment.
