Optoma recently announced the new ProScene ZU510T compact laser projector, featuring WUXGA resolution, 5,500 lumen brightness and 24/7 operation capabilities with a 30,000 hour light source.
This extended lifetime is achieved using Optoma’s new DuraCore technology, which has advanced laser diode cooling and a dust resistant design. The ZU510T has been independently tested and certified with a dust resistance IP5X rating, making it virtually maintenance free. In addition, the ZU510T achieves 99% of the Rec. 709 color gamut. Optoma claims this 30,000 hours provides for 20 years of normal use or 3.4 years of use if run continuously 24/7. It also supports 360-degree projection and can project in portrait mode.
The Optoma ProScene ZU510T began shipping in late November with an MSRP of $5,299.
Recent forecast data from analyst firm PMA Research estimates that the laser, laser/LED and laser/phosphor projector market will grow by 30% Y/Y in 2016.
