Optoma recently announced the CinemaX P1 Smart 4K UHD Laser Cinema projector geared towards all things home entertainment. The CinemaX P1 features an ultra-short throw ratio making it ideal to produce an 85″ to 120″ image when the unit is just inches from the screen. It features 4K UHD resolution (3840×2160) with 3,000 lumens of brightness and a Dynamic Black contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1 to ensure bright scenes appear crisp and clear and dark scenes remain detailed. The CinemaX P1 also features pure glass optics, and a laser light source rated at 20,000 hours (30,000 hours in ECO Mode).
The wide color gamut of the CinemaX P1 shows brighter whites and deeper blacks. This new model also supports HDR10 and HLG. In addition, the CinemaX P1 includes many SMART features such as SmartFIT auto geometry correction system ensure easy place and play setup, Alexa Smart and Custom Skill, as well as Google Actions.
Finally, an integrated Dolby Digital 2.0 soundbar with two full range aluminum drivers, two woofers, ported, isolated chambers and 40 watts of power, engineered by NuForce, delivers superior dialogue clarity.
The Optoma CinemaX P1 Smart 4K UHD Laser Cinema is available for pre-order now at an MSRP of $3,299, and will begin shipping in early September.
Display market analyst firm PMA Research just published their most recent Retail Tracking report, which showed that 1080p and 4K UHD home theater projector sales rose sharply in July 2019 – even with an uptick in ASPs. 4K UHD volume was nearly 3X last July thanks to a double-digit decline in the weighted average selling prices.
