BenQ recently launched its new iSeries home entertainment projector line which includes the TK850i, the W2700i and the TH685i. This next generation of home-entertainment projectors all have Google-certified Android TV built-in, making them ideal for creating an easy to use home theater for movies, gaming or sports viewing.
All three projectors are controlled via a single remote for access to live TV streaming, movies and games, as well as the Google Play store. These projectors also support wireless casting using either the built-in Google Chromecast app or Apple Airplay. These projectors feature BenQ’s proprietary CinemaMaster Video+ and CinemaMaster Audio+ 2 technologies, with motion-adaptive 4K pixel enhancement, robust color and natural flesh tone reproduction, along with integrated audio. The iSeries models have HDR-PRO technology with HDR10/HLG support and dynamic iris control.
The TK850i is aimed at sports enthusiasts and and features a specialized Sports mode. The TK850i can produce a 100-inch+ 4K UHD image. This model offers 3,000 lumens, HDR-PRO technology, two built-in 5W speakers, and custom sport audio settings. It has a 98% Rec.709 color gamut and offers 8.3-million-pixels. The TK850i also has keystone correction and can be easily mounted.
The CinePrime W2700i 2,000 lumen DLP projector is designed with movie buffs in mind by utilizing BenQ’s 4K HDR-PRO CinematicColor technology. Featuring a 4K-optimized optical system with an all-glass lens for enhanced light transmission and ultimate image quality, the W2700i provides 95% coverage of the super-wide DCI-P3 color space and 100% of Rec. 709 color gamut. This is backed by individual factory color calibration reports ensuring Delta E≤3 color accuracy on each W2700i projector.
The BenQ TH685i projector has been designed for the specific needs of hard-core gamers. It has a120Hz refresh rate, a low input lag of just 8ms response time, plus 1080p resolution with HDR-enabled capabilities and 4K compatibility. The TH685i comes with an exclusive game mode to produce crisp, fast-moving images, and a game sound mode, powered by CinemaMaster Audio+2. It offers 3,500 lumens brightness and a lamp life of 15,000 hours.
Industry analyst firm PMA Research tracks developments in the Projector market. 2020 has been a banner year for home entertainment projectors due to the Corona Virus pandemic. Unit sales and revenues of Consumer projectors are on track to show and 8% year-over-year increase with consumers eager to upgrade their in-home entertainment options.
