NEC Display Solutions has announced a new pair of 3,100 lumen V Series multimedia projectors – the XGA resolution V311X and the WXGA resolution V311W, which are geared towards classrooms and small meeting rooms.
The new V Series projectors offer a low total cost of ownership with power management capabilities which enable the projectors to automatically turn off when an incoming signal is not detected. Additionally, their filter-free designs eliminate the need to change filters.
The DLP based V311X and the V311W have a contrast ratio of 3000:1, employ BrilliantColor technology, are 3D capable, and have a lamp life of up to 5,000 hours in Eco-mode. Other features include built-in wall color correction presets, PC Control Utility Pro 4, a Virtual Remote (DDC/CI) and a carbon savings meter. Inputs include HDMI, dual computer, composite video, S-Video and component video (using optional 15-pin adapter cables), and integrated RJ45 for LAN connection, 7-watt speakers and variable audio-out to connect to an external speaker.
The V311X and V311W will be available in October 2013 at a minimum advertised price of $629 and $699, respectively.
Findings from end-user surveys conducted by analyst firm PMA Research have found that low total cost of ownership and a projectors “green factor” to be important criteria when people are choosing a new projector for the classroom or conference room.
