Maxell Pro AV recently announced the expansion of its laser projector lineup with the compact, lightweight 3LCD J Series projectors geared towards use in classrooms and conference rooms. The series is comprised of three new models – the MP-JW4001, MP-JU4001 and MP-JW3501 projectors, which all come standard with Maxell’s 5-year/10,000-hour warranty. With total cost of ownership in mind, these 3LCD J Series laser projectors have no lamps to replace and offer a 20,000 hour light source life when used in normal mode. Additionally, their new phosphor chip technology, which replaces the phosphor wheel and motor, results in fewer moving parts for better reliability and quieter operation.
With budget conscious education and small-to-medium business customers in mind, Maxell worked closely with its end-users on the design of the J Series to ensure these new projectors would provide the exact features users needed, at an affordable price. The entire J Series is designed for easy installation and set-up. Maxell’s Perfect Fit 2 feature enables users to adjust individual corners and sides independent of one another to ensure the picture fits the screen in each classroom or conference room, while the Cloning Function makes it easy to copy configuration settings from one projector to another of the same model. Maxell’s J Series lineup also supports specific control commands of several other projector brands to make replacement as easy as possible.
The WXGA resolution MP-JW4001 and the WUXGA resolution MP-JU400 both offer 4000 ANSI lumens brightness, while the MP-JW3501 features 3500 ANSI lumens and WXGA resolution. All models feature wireless presentation compatibility, Projector Quick Connection App for Mobile devices, USB and HDMI connection options for teachers and staff. The flagship MP-JU4001 also features High Dynamic Contrast Ratio for more vibrant colors and Maxell’s unique Accentualizer technology.
The MP-JW3501 and the MP-JW4001 are currently shipping with respective MSRP’s of $1,749 and $2,249. The MP-JU4001 will ship at a later date and MSRP has not yet been disclosed.
Display market analyst firm PMA Research tracks sales of projectors and has been following the laser projector segment closely. It represents a bright spot in the projector market with laser projectors hitting 10% unit share and 40% revenue share in 2019.
