Christie Digital has introduced two new G Series and four new E Series projectors, all of which will ship in November.
In the new G Series, the 1-chip DLP Christie DHD550-G and Christie DWU550-G are 5000 lumens, have a single mercury-lamp design, and offer a choice of HD (1920 x 1080) and WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolutions.
Designed for the installation market, the G Series projectors have optional wireless connectivity, a suite of optional lenses and input options that include HDMI, DVI and display port. Additional features include Dynamic Contrast which boosts contrast ratios up to 5000:1, Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture functionality. For multi-projector installations, the Christie G Series comes with color matching as well as an optional dual processing warp card that enables blending and warping.
Christie also added four new 1-chip DLP E Series projectors to its product lineup with the Christie DHD675-E, Christie DWU675-E, Christie DHD775-E and the Christie DWU775-E. The new Christie E Series models are also built on 1-chip DLP technology, but have a dual lamp design that provides increased brightness ranging from 6450 to 7200 lumens, a choice between HD (1920 x 1080) and WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolutions, and the Dynamic Contrast feature.
Designed with the Rental & Staging market in mind, the E Series is geared towards multi-projector applications. Additional options for the Christie E Series include the dual processor warp module for blending and warping images, color matching and a stacking system. Also included is a high brightness six-segment color wheel (RGBCYW) with an optional rich color wheel (RGBCYM) available when color precision is vital.
One of the segments projector market research firm Pacific Media Associates follows is the High-End (4,000+ lumen) projector market. Their most recent forecast predicts that this segment will grow by nearly 57,000 units in 2012.www.pmaresearch.com
