Consumer electronics manufacturer Anker, under its sub-brand Soundcore, has formally announced the coming availability of their new Nebula X1 Pro portable entertainment system, which includes a 4K projector and sound system in a rolling travel case.
The 4K UHD projector has standard features such as autofocus, keystone correction, obstacle avoidance, screen fitting, and wall color compensation. It is all driven by AI and managed by a single button and microphones that fine-tune your speaker positioning.
The X1 Pro projector is a 3,500 lumen DLP model with a triple-laser light source. It has a contrast ratio of 56,000:1 and covers 110% of the Rec 2020 color space. The X1 Pro has a six-blade dynamic Iris and is 3D compatible vis DLP Link.
The projector has Google TV and Netflix onboard. Connectivity includes an HDMI port for use with gaming consoles or Blu-ray players. Additional connections include USB-C and USB-A.
The sound system is what makes this home theater projector offering unique. It comes with four detachable pop-out wireless speakers and a pair of built-in subwoofers, all engineered to deliver 7.1.4 spatial audio with Dolby Atmos decoding. The front units swing out into soundbar mode, and each speaker detaches and has fold-out legs or can be mounted on tripods, so can be repositioned anywhere in your space for full cinematic sound. Finally, the speakers can be used to stream audio without any accompanying video.
Soundcore also offers a bundle with a 200-inch inflatable screen. It comes with its own battery-powered air pump and a T-shaped frame. You can even attach the pop-out speakers to it for directional sound. In addition, the projector is IP43 rated for light rain and dust.
Anker has opened pre-orders for the Soundcore Nebula X1 Pro home theater system via Kickstarter and prices start at $3,000. This is an early bird discount from the eventual $5,000 price tag. Sources report that the Nebula X1 Pro has already reached its funding goal, and deliveries are expected to start this December.
