Well-known camera brand Leica is entering the projector business with their newly announced model, the Leica CINE 1 – a 3,000 lumen 4K UST Laser TV.
The projector features triple-RGB laser technology with an expected lifespan of 25,000 hours. Leica partnered with Hisense for the triple RGB laser light engine and Texas Instruments for DLP chips.
The CINE 1 utilizes a Leica-engineered Summicron lens to incorporate the expertise of Leica camera imagery into the display. In addition, the Leica Cine 1 uses their proprietary image processing system, Leica Image Optimization (LIO™) to optimize picture quality with custom algorithms for natural color reproduction, detailed color gradations, and excellent contrast transfer.
The CINE 1 Laser TV has several SMART features. It is equipped with a four-channel Dolby Atmos audio system (2 x 25 W speakers), Google’s smart TV platform and also supports Airplay 2 for content sharing. Media players, Blu-ray players and game consoles can be connected via HDMI and USB inputs. Additional connectivity includes Ethernet RJ45. Leica’s new projector also supports a number of HDR formats, including HDR10+, HLG, and Dolby Vision
The CINE 1 comes in two screen sizes the CINE 1-100 and the CINE 1-120 and have MSRP’s of $8,995 and $9,495 respectively.
