Two new interactive ultra-short-throw projectors for education have been announced by BenQ. The MW860USTi (throw-ratio of 0.37) and the MP780ST+ (throw ratio of 0.49) feature BenQ’s PointDraw interactive technology with dual-pen support. The PointDraw Pen 2.0 offers fast response time to support remote interactivity from up to 25 feet away. These units require no system calibration, making them easy to use.
Both projectors are WXGA resolution, employ DLP Link and are 3D capable. The 20 watt built in speaker with audio pass-through and microphone input can replace classroom audio systems. The MW860USTi and MP780ST+ have LAN and USB display options for PC-free presentations.
The MW860USTi and MP780ST+ are now shipping, with MSRP’s of $2,499 and $2,099, respectively.
Projector market research firm Pacific Media Associates recently surveyed a large sample of K-12 teachers and found that these features are extremely important to them.
