Barco recently announced the introduction of the F400-HR projector and touts this new model as the industry’s first single-chip native 4K resolution projector. It features extremely high-speed processing, laser illumination and reliability making it an ideal choice for training & simulation applications.
The F400-HR has a native resolution of 4K (4,096 x 2,176) and is 6K compatible with built-in pixel-shift capability. The extremely high-speed processing of up to 240 Hz at native 4K resolution, makes sure that details are life-like in even the fastest moving mission critical training scenarios.
Built on the next-generation proprietary Barco Pulse platform, the F400-HR also benefits from the extraordinary high bandwidth capacity of this software architecture. This ensures multiple advanced processing operations can take place with minimal time delays. The Barco Pulse platform also features an expansion port for optional modules to increase the range of standard inputs, and the API enables partners to integrate custom management tools and value-add features to complement the projector’s software.
The high-speed laser light source creates speckle-free images with clarity and color intensity for every simulation situation. With limited energy consumption and a lifetime of up to 50,000 hours (depending on the mode of operation) without the need for maintenance, the projector also ensures a minimal TCO.
The F400-HR is fully rated for shock and vibration, so it is fit for use on motion platforms. The electronics and hardware are built around a unique H-beam shaped aluminum core, to give the projector an optimized strength-to-weight ratio. This special design also facilitates simplified maintenance and service, with critical components directly accessible from top and bottom.
