Earlier this year, Barco announced sales of their single-chip G-series laser phosphor projectors reached the milestone of 10,000 units deployed. Building on that, the InfoComm 2023 launch of three new G50 projectors now has the series offering ten projectors between 6,000 and 22,000 lumens. One of the key features of the new G50 is its compact and lightweight design. Weighing between 11-13 kg (25 – 30 pounds), Barco touts the G50 as the smallest projector available in its class. The new models weigh in at 33% less than their predecessors in the G-Series. The new G50 projectors offer size and weight advantages, along with energy efficiency and superior image quality.
These projectors have been designed with visual experiences in mind and for use in various applications such as boardrooms, museums, experience centers, and even entry-level simulation. The Barco Pulse Mobil app serves as a remote controller and allows for quick tweaking of basic projection parameters, such as lens adjustments, projector orientation, shutter power, test patterns and black level settings. Barco’s cloud-based Insights Management platform is designed to simplify and facilitate remote monitoring and serviceability of projectors.
The new G50 Series models are:
The G-Series models accommodate a wide range of interchangeable lenses, and if users already own G60/G62 projectors, they can simply reuse the lenses on the G50 projectors. This is attractive to the Rental, Staging and Live Events markets.
In addition, the G50 projectors address the growing importance of sustainability. With an industry-leading energy efficiency of up to 18 Lm/W the G50 offers the most cost-effective lumen per watt ratio available in a large-venue projector. The lamp-free laser light source also makes these projectors an eco-friendly, low maintenance projector.
