Texas Instruments (TI) has announced its newest chipset, the DLP Pico 0.33-inch full HD. Consisting of the DLP3310 digital micromirror device (DMD) and DLPC3437 controller, TI touts this as the industry’s smallest 1080p display chip solution with the highest brightness capabilities in the 0.3-inch imager class. TI goes on the say that the DLP3310 DMD and DLPC3437 controller combine size, efficiency and performance to deliver a cutting-edge portable display solution for mobile smart TVs, battery-operated pico projectors, smart theater displays, as well as signage and industrial solutions.

Manufacturers planning to offer an optical module utilizing DLP3310 include Shenzhen Anhua Optoelectronics Technology Co. Ltd, Coretronic Corporation, DigitalOptics Co. Ltd, Ongine Technology, Young Optics, Inc. among others.
The 0.33-inch Full-HD chipset and the associated components will be available in 2H17.
