Philips has announced a new ultra short-throw projector model, the Philips Screeneo UL5 with a laser light source delivering up to 550 lumens of brightness and can produce a screen-size of up to 120-inches. The projector is extremely portable, measuring just 94 mm x 86.6 mm x 206 mm and weighing 2.2lbs, or around 1 kg.
The new model has 1080p Full HD resolution, a contrast ratio of 1800:1 and support for HDR10 content. It offers dual aspect ratios (16:9 and 4:3), AI driven auto-focus, manual keystone correction and digital zoom capabilities.
The Screeneo UL5will have a throw ratio of 0:23:1, allowing it to be placed just 20-inches away from a wall or screen. The projector’s RGB laser light source offers 55o lumens of brightness and will achieve 108% coverage of the Rec.2020 color space. The model’s light source is expected to last 25,000 hours.
Other features on the Philips Screeneo UL5 include the Android-based LuminOS platform allowing for access to streaming apps such as Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime, as well as the Google Play Store. There is a built-in autofocus tool for easy setup, dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and a pair of HDMI 2.1 ports, plus USB-A and USB-C inputs. The Screeneo UL5 will come standard with six preset modes – Standard, Vivid, Movie, Game, User and Eco.
Philips will launch the Screeneo UL5 via an Indigogo campaign and is offering a launch-day deal of up to 40% off for those who pre-order.
