Taiwanese projector maker Optoma introduced two new models in their EcoBright Lamp-Free projector line, the TL30W and TL50W. The EcoBright line employs LEDs for instant-on operation and eliminate costly lamp replacement. Both projectors use DLP imagers to display WXGA (1,280×800) images with 3,000:1 contrast ratio. The TL30W produces 300 lumens, while the more powerful TL50W produces 500 lumens. Both models feature built in built-in 2GB Personal Media Players (PMP) with MS Office Viewer and USB connectors and microSD (TL30W) or SD (TL50W) card slots. They can display PowerPoint, Word, Excel, PDF, JPEG, BMP, and video files in common formats. Connectivity includes HDMI, VGA, microUSB, USB (for flash drives), composite video and stereo audio in. The TL30W has a suggested retail price of $US549. The TL50W has a suggested retail price of US$649. Both models are currently available.
PMA recognizes two current projector market trends: New Era projectors with higher brightness, and the inclusion of full feature sets, including PC-Free operation.
