Japanese home cinema and audio equipment manufacturer Onkyo introduced their first projector, the PP-D1. The new model uses a DLP imager and LED illumination to produce 80 lumens at WVGA (854×480) resolution with 1,000:1 contrast ratio. The projector offers a wide range of features, including a built-in Personal Media Player (PMP), internal 1,800 mAh battery and a 1 watt speaker. The PMP can display popular image, audio and video files from its internal 2GB of storage, SD/SDHC slot or the miniUSB port. Computers, smartphones, tablets and other source devices may be connected to the miniHDMI or composite video inputs. The PP-D1 is currently available at a retail price of US$351, which includes the projector, remote control, tripod, VGA, HDMI and Composite Video cables, tripod and soft carry case.
