Korean multimedia electronics company Neckers introduced Vingo, a DLP based pico projector that features a Personal Media Player (PMP) based on the Android 2.3 operating system. The new projector can produce up to 40 lumens at WVGA (854×480) resolution with 1,000: contrast ratio. When operating on its internal 3,000 mAH rechargeable battery, Vingo produces 28 lumens with a run time of up to 3 hours. The PMP can display files in popular image, video and office formats from its 512MB of internal storage or built-in microSD card slot. Images and video can also be wirelessly displayed from an Android phone, Apple iPhone/iPod/iPad or a computer connected via built-in Wi-Fi. Neckers plans to display the new projector at the upcoming Korean Electronics Show.
Projectors with powerful PMPs based on Android or Windows CE and Wi-Fi have been appearing in PMA’s projector market research recently. Mobile professionals should welcome the ability to do wireless presentations via Wi-Fi.
