FLCOS imager and optical engine maker Micron Technology has introduced a pico projector for Apple’s iPhone 4 and 4S. Called PoP Video, the new projector attaches to the back of the phone and can project videos, photos, web pages and social media from the phone at qHD (960×540) resolution. Brightness and other specifciatons were not disclosed. PoP Video, which is also compatible with 3rd and 4th generation iPod media players, has a built-in battery that can run the projector for up to two hours and incorporates QuickLogic’s Visual Enhancement Engine (VEE) to improve viewability. PoP Video is available for pre-order through Micron’s crucial.com online store at a retail price of US$99.
