InFocus recently added the IN1142 to its LightPro family of ultra-portable, light-emitting diode (LED) projectors.
The InFocus LightPro series, which also includes the recently-released IN1146, is geared towards mobile presenting with each model weighing less than two pounds and having dimensions about the size of a paper-back book. The entry-level IN1142 is InFocus’ lowest-cost LED projector at less than $400. The light-source is rated for up to 30,000 hours of use, giving it a low cost of ownership.
The LightPro IN1142 delivers a WXGA (1280×800) widescreen image at a brightness of 700 lumens and has a contrast ratio of 10,000:1. InFocus touts the IN1142 as having a fast and easy set-up and take-down without the need for a warm-up or cool-down. It has an HDMI port enabling a presenter to quickly get content from a laptop, tablet or smartphone. The new model will be shipping soon.
Recent findings from PMA Research show that sales of LED personal projectors are on the rise. Survey findings indicate that projector users are interested in models with a low cost of ownership and green technology, such as LED light sources.
