AAXA Technologies has introduced the 4K1 mini LED projector. It features a native 4K digital imager and Osram quad-cast LEDs. The 4K1 boasts 1500 lumens of brightness and can deliver a images up to 200” in Ultra-HD. The 4K1 features dual HDMI compatible inputs, remote-controlled focus adjustment, powerful twin 2-watt speakers, and an onboard media player.
The AAXA 4K1 employs a state-of-the-art optical system based on Texas Instruments DLP’s latest 4K MEMs imager and offers true 3840×2160 resolution. The light-source comes from premium Osram “Quad-Cast” LEDs and the image is passed through premium grade optics including a high MTF lens-set which ensures no image degradation. The result is true on-screen Ultra-HD image.
The 4K1 employs Osram’s newest quad-cast solid-state LEDs. Quad Cast Red/Green/Blue/Blue LEDs are able to produce a wide color gamut which AAXA touts as producing better color than in in color-wheel or white LED based projectors. Solid-state LED technology enables long life-spans and instant on/off. With a 30,000 hour LED light source the 4K1 can operate 8 hours per day for more than 10 years without needing a lamp change. And, the LEDs are environmentally friendly and mercury free.
The 4K1 employs remote electric focus technology that allows the user to adjust the focus via remote control without ever touching the projector. This feature enables better control over adjustments and flexibility for ceiling mounting or frequent location changes. In addition, the 4K1 employs a custom 3-hole ceiling mount set-up for secure vertical mounting applications. The AAXA 4K1 also features dual 2-watt speakers. The projector also offers twin HDMI inputs, an AV 3.5mm input, as well as an onboard media player. Content can be stored directly on a Micro SD card or USB memory stick and played back directly from the projector. The AAXA 4K1 is available now at an MSRP of $999.
Projector market analyst firm PMA Research has been tracking the Pico and Personal projector market and has their Pico and Personal Worldwide Forecast report anticipates substantial growth for the personal projector segment. As these units become available with higher resolution and brightness, these personal projectors will replace many larger mainstream projectors.
