ViewSonic Corporation has upgraded the hardware and software features of its ViewBoard® IFP50 series of interactive flat panel displays to improve the collaborative experience for users in boardrooms and classrooms. The physical upgrades to the IFP50 series include an enhanced touchscreen and an ultra-slim bezel design. The internal upgrades include a new embedded Android™ 7 operating system, improved myViewBoard™ whiteboard software and improved casting.
The ViewSonic® ViewBoard IFP50 series now includes an enhanced 20-point touch-enabled panel, which provides differentiated tip sizes of IR-based pens and simultaneous two color writing for multiple users to write or draw on the display’s surface with their fingers or stylus. The new touch screen also features reduced latency of 4ms for a smooth writing experience.
These interactive flat panel displays provide powerful computing for annotation and multimedia playback without the need for a PC. The IFP50 ViewBoard displays come with a built-in ARM quad-core processor and an Android™ 7.0 operating system, making it 2.3x faster than previous iterations. This offers better application performance, more efficient memory usage and optimized hardware integration, with 2GB memory and 16GB storage. With the improved processor power, IFP50 displays can handle multiple cast streams, allowing up to nine screens, with the vCastSender™ utility. Users also have the option to utilize native Chromecast from any Chrome-enabled devices.
The ViewBoard IFP50 series of interactive displays are “out–of-the-box” collaboration ready. It allows users to write, highlight, edit and transform documents and images on the screen in real time. The myViewBoard™ digital whiteboarding software also features Single Sign-On that allows users to easily and securely log-in to multiple cloud drives or multiple meetings with a single sign on. The QR Code Sharing feature enables users to share content via unique QR codes on the ViewBoard display.
The ViewSonic IFP50 series offers a variety of sizes from 55- to 86-inch interactive displays that have native 4K UHD (3840×2160) resolution and come with multiple connectivity options including: HDMI, Composite, VGA, YPbPr, SPDIF audio-out, USB 2.0 and 3.0, RJ45, RS232 in/out, optional slot-in PC and Audio in/out, to connect to a wide variety of computing and multimedia devices. New ports include a SmartPort USB™: a series of front-facing USB ports that follow current input channels; and a dedicated camera port so users can connect a camera to use between a slot-in PC or Android system, with no need to plug/unplug when switching operating systems.
PMA Research, a leading market data analyst firm covering the large-format display industry recently reported that 3Q2019 sales of interactive flat panels through the U.S. distribution channel more than doubled from 3Q2018 and that 55” was the most popular interactive screen size during that period.
