Samsung’s The Wall is a modular indoor display with MicroLED technology. It can be scaled to any size while maintaining its image quality and performance. It has been showcased this year at CES, InfoComm and CEDIA as a 146” display with 4K UHD resolution.
In any arrangement, The Wall’s HDR10+ technology and MicroLED pixel modules produce pure, rich colors and deep, deep black levels to create an inspiring visual experience with a nearly infinite contrast ratio. The peak brightness of 1600 nits means The Wall can be effectively used in bright ambient environments as well as in dark ones.
The MicroLED technology featured in The Wall eliminates the need for color filters or backlight. The MicroLEDs are self-emitting, serving as their own source of light and are much smaller, with a pixel pitch of 0.8mm, and have a wider color gamut than conventional LEDs.
A business-ready variation of The Wall, called The Wall Professional is equipped with MagicINFO 6, Samsung’s latest content management platform. MagicINFO 6 allows businesses to conveniently create, schedule and deploy content across their entire digital signage network. The platform is powered by the TIZEN 4.0 operating system which offers seamless remote management for both software and hardware.
Samsung has been accepting pre-orders for The Wall and are expected to begin shipments in the fourth quarter.
PMA Research, the experts in large-format display market analysis, have reported increased sell-through for modular Direct View LED displays used to form customized video walls.
