Panasonic Systems Solutions Company of North America recently introduced their new 4K professional flat panel display portfolio. The new Panasonic EQ1 and SQ1 series flat panel displays are designed for use in a wide array of applications, including education, corporate, rental and staging, museums, House of Worship and retail venues.
The EQ1 Series includes six new models of 4K professional displays and offers sizes to fit many signage applications. The EQ1 series includes 43, 50, 55, 65, 75, 85-inch display sizes. At 350 cd/m2brightness, the EQ1 series displays are ideal for public spaces, retail venues, corporate meeting rooms and classrooms. The two largest displays (86/75-inch) also feature In-Plane Switching technology, which maintains color accuracy and clear visibility when the screen is viewed off-axis. This new display series offers 4K imaging with a slim depth and narrow bezel design which maximizes the viewing area. The design also offers simple, networkable media presentation, with a built-in signage player that allows video and still-image playback via USB. Single or multiple displays can be monitored and controlled using Panasonic’s free Multi-Monitoring and Control Software for basic control capabilities. The software can be expanded to include Early Warning Software, which allows for networking displays, monitoring device status, recording operation history and sending alerts should an issue be detected. These displays can be mounted in either portrait or landscape orientation. The EQ1 Series will be available in the fall of 2018.
The new SQ1 Series expands the 4K display lineup to include 86 and 98-inch sizes offerings. These large-format displays are also designed for digital signage, as well as for general use in corporate offices, classrooms and retail locations. The SQ1 displays are built for self-contained or networked digital signage applications, as well as an office/education/retail communication system. The 4K displays have a built-in USB Media Player, with updates to USB memory devices via LAN when connected to an intranet (ideal for difficult-to-access installations). An IPS panel assures all-round visibility and picture quality. The narrow bezel and quality finish ensures the SQ1 displays work with the aesthetic of any interior space. The slim wall-mounting maximizes visibility and is ADA compliant. These displays can also be mounted in either portrait or landscape orientation. The SQ1 4K displays are expected to be available in December 2018.
Display market analyst PMA Research follows the large-format display market. In their recently published July 2018 Pro AV Tracking Service PMA found that unit volume for models featuring 4K UHD resolution have nearly tripled from a year ago. Notably, July marked the first time that UHD resolution professional displays outsold FHD professional displays in the Pro AV channel.
