NEC has added the MultiSync X551UHD, a new 55-inch display to its lineup of MultiSync® UHD models. The X551UHD has Ultra High Definition (3840 x 2160) resolution, a 4000:1 contrast ratio and edge-lit LED backlighting. Built with industrial grade components, the display can be run 24/7 in demanding operations such as control rooms, rental/staging, digital signage and conferencing. The X551UHD comes equipped with SpectraView Engine® which gives the display the ability to reproduce colors more accurately than traditional FHD or UHD displays. Various settings are preset at the factory making it easy to select the desired image mode from the menu without the need for calibration. The display provides up to 500 nits of adjustable brightness and more than 1.07 billion colors.
Flexible connectivity is provided with several digital inputs, including four HDMI inputs, DisplayPort, two DVI-D inputs for video, Audio Mini-Jack, HDMI Audio and DisplayPort Audio for audio and RS-232C, LAN and USB for external control. NaViSet Administrator 2 software is included to allow users to manage multiple connected displays from a centralized location. The displays also have a multi-picture mode which can simultaneously show up to four images. The X551UHD also features an OPS expansion slot, UHD upscaling, a power-save mode, built-in speakers and NFC via the Intelligent Wireless Data App.
The X551UHD is designed with a slim 78.1 mm profile and narrow 18.5 mm bezels on all sides and can be oriented in either landscape or portrait mode. The NEC X551UHD displays are available now at an MSRP of $3999.00.
PMA Research, an analyst firm that specializes in market data for the display industry, reported that NEC Displays was the second best-selling brand of large flat panel displays both in terms of number of units sold and in revenues for the month of July 2016.
