LG Electronics USA Business Solutions showcased thin and lightweight OLED Video Wall commercial displays along with several other products at CEDIA 2017. These OLED EV5C series panels have portrait orientation and are available in either 55” or 65” diagonal screen sizes.
The series features UHD 4K resolution on the 65” panel with 450 nits of brightness and FHD (1920×1080) resolution on the 55” panel with 400 nits of brightness. The color and contrast of the images displayed are further enhanced by the OLED technology used in the panels. The OLED signage display consists of two layers; one is the OLED screen itself with a thin profile of 7.9 mm. Behind it is the signage box, also thin so that the overall depth of the display is 36.3 mm for the 65” panel. The weight of the panels are about half of similarly sized LCD panels.
The panels are designed to be wall-mounted side by side with the ability to line up as few or as many panels needed to create the desired video wall. The 65” panel, for example, has a display height of 57.1” and a display width of 32” multiplied by the number of panels daisy-chained together. The bezels on the panels when off are 1.2 mm and while displaying content the inactive seam between the installed panels is a narrow 9.5 mm for the 65” panels and 8.2 mm for the 55” panels.
PMA Research, a market analyst firm covering the display industry, has reported growth in sales of OLED consumer TVs. Revenues for OLED TVs in 2Q2017 increased 90% compared to 1Q2017. The rate of adoption of OLED displays for the commercial market will be reported month by month in the PMA Research Flat Panel Display Sell-Through Reports.
