The new XV series of LCD flat panels by Christie® are versatile professional-grade panels rated for 24/7 use. The XV series panels are being touted as value-priced additions to Christie’s product line up. The XV models are available in two screen sizes, a 49” (FHD492-XV) and a 55” (FHD552-XV). These displays can be used for video walls or in standalone operations.
The XV series panels are built with 1920×1080 resolution and edge-lit LED backlighting. They have 500 nits of typical brightness and can be oriented in either portrait or landscape mode. The XV displays have a 6.5 mm bezel on each side or a 13 mm bezel-to-bezel width when tiled in video walls. The LCD panels provide a 1300:1 contrast ratio and a 0.559×0.559 mm pixel pitch. The XV displays also offer 1.07 billion display colors and a full array of connectivity inputs including HDMI (2), DisplayPort, DVI-D, VGA, Composite, Component, USB playback, Audio L/R, Audio RCA jack/phone jack.
The new XV series is designed both for mission critical control rooms using multiple images on multiple screens, such as those found in government facilities, public utilities, and security/surveillance operations and for individual applications such as in lobbies, sports bars, retail establishments, classrooms, arenas and stadiums. The flat panels can combine with the Christie® Phoenix® EP, which Christie also recently introduced. Christie Phoenix EP is a network-distributed processor that installs directly into compatible Christie displays. It’s a compact, cost-effective and scalable solution for managing content on video walls and distributed displays used in control room and other applications. The Christie FHD492-XV and FHD552-XV both start shipping in November 2016 and are backed with a three-year parts and labor warranty.
An earlier model, the Christie FHD552-X appeared on the PMA Research Top 25 Flat Panel Display Models list for August 2016.
