BenQ recently introduced its RM03 Master Series displays—a suite of smart interactive displays designed for education. Packed with intuitive teaching tools and features, the Master series enhances the overall classroom experience in both hybrid and in-person learning environments. The 65-inch RM6503, 75-inch RM7503, and the 86-inch RM8603 smart boards are designed to provide an intuitive learning hub that allows teachers to start, manage and create lessons directly from the display.
The RM03 displays come equipped with ClassroomCare® technologies that are designed to protect the health of both students and teachers. The series have antimicrobial screens, which help prevent the transmission of harmful pathogens. Using nano-ionic silver—an agent recognized for its ability to stop the spread of bacteria and other germs—the display’s germ-resistant screens have tested 99.9% effective against common disease-causing pathogens, such as Staphylococcus aureus and E. coli bacteria. The RM03 also comes with germ-resistant pens that further reduce the chances of germ transmission via touch in class. With the addition of eye care solutions—an anti-glare touchscreen and flicker-free and low blue light technologies—the 4K UHD RM03 display helps ensure that students are protected against eye strain and other eye-related issues.
RM03 displays offer a comprehensive set of educational tools that teachers can take advantage of for more engaging lessons. For example, the RM03 displays utilize BenQ’s license-free EZWrite 6 annotation and collaboration software. The built-in EZWrite 6 is more than a typical digital whiteboard. On top of its wide variety of annotation and drawing options, adjustable workspace and templates, and activity toolbox, EZWrite 6 also allows cross-platform lesson creation and real-time student collaboration. When creating or presenting lessons, EZWrite’s Floating Tool empowers teachers to add text to any medium. This includes app, video, website, document or image. They can also choose the pen color, erase, open files or take screenshots.
Teachers can create lesson content from their own device and then easily load it on the board by either transferring files from a USB device or loading them from cloud accounts. Students can then join the whiteboarding session from their own devices, allowing them to participate without having to leave their seats.
Through InstaShare 2, students and teachers can enjoy wireless screen sharing on the RM03. This makes it convenient for anyone to present reports and share content from their own laptops, tablets, or smartphones. This further empowers students to present their ideas in class, without the hassle of cables. With this, users can share up to nine screens simultaneously. Where remote students or guests are joining, the display is compatible with all leading videoconferencing software. This includes Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. It also has the optional slot-in PC, which expands the utility of the screen even further.
The RM03 also has the Duo Windows feature, which allows teachers to split the screen in half, granting them the opportunity to open two applications at once. They can, for example, load a reference document on one window while annotating on EZWrite 6 on the other side. They can also share a connected screen alongside another app in use with InstaShare’s Floating Window mode.
BenQ’s mission is to eliminate the complexities of using interactive display technology that robs valuable class time. The RM03 Series allows teachers to select their personal settings, which are instantly recalled when they log in. In addition, teachers can securely access lesson materials on Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive or the network. The display’s two built-in 16W speakers and six-microphone array ensure that the entire class can hear and be heard during hybrid and remote lessons.
The display has multiple ports for easy connectivity, including a front USB Type-C slot, which teachers can use to attach their laptop or webcam, turning the RM03 into an effective hybrid learning tool. Plus, they can command the screen and teach lessons from anywhere in the room with the included remote control and voice assistant for increased flexibility.
The RM03 Series also have IT and administration management tools such as AMS, X-Sign Broadcast digital signage software and OTA updates. BenQ’s X-Sign Broadcast software turns any BenQ smart board in the school into signage. Thus it allows schools to keep everyone informed and up to date on events, safety protocols and emergencies. IT staff also have access to at-a-glance device analytics for any BenQ display using the included AMS software. They can easily monitor and analyze the status of all the BenQ devices on a single dashboard. This includes managing displays, apps, and OTA updates remotely for maximum convenience.
