Each month, PMA Research posts the “Top 5” Projector Lists for the following product categories:
Mainstream Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Distributor Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of North American distributors. For the Mainstream segment, NEC took top honors with the best-selling NP-M271X projector, and also filled the fourth spot with the NP-VE281X. Epson’s PowerLite 97 came in second in March. InFocus rounded out the “Top 5” with the IN114 and the IN112 in the third and fifth spots, respectively.
High-End Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Pro AV Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of North American dealers and integrators. For High-End projectors, Sony took top honors in March with the VPL-FHZ55/W coming in first. Hitachi followed with the CP-WX4022WN coming in second. Epson followed with a pair of projectors – the PowerLite Pro G6450WU and the PowerLite 1945W – in the number three and four spots, respectively. NEC’s NP-PA500U-13ZL rounded out this “Top 5” list.
Home Entertainment Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Retail Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of North American retailers and web resellers. For Home Entertainment projectors, the March results showed BenQ with the number one selling model, the BenQ W1070, for the third month in a row. BenQ also filled the number three spot with the W1080ST. Epson had a trio of projectors round out the Home Entertainment list with the PowerLite Home Cinema 500 Silver, the PowerLite Home Cinema 730HD and the PowerLite Home Cinema 2030 filling the second, fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
