Christie will introduce the Eclipse G3, the third generation of its Eclipse projection platform, at CEDIA 2025. The Eclipse G3 is designed for ultra‑high‑end home theaters, attractions such as planetariums and theme parks, and immersive experiences.
According to Christie, the Eclipse G3 is a 6DLP projector that incorporates pure RGB laser illumination for true HDR output. The projector boasts a contrast ratio of up to 20,000,000:1, which Christie states is approximately 100 times the Rec. 2100 standard. Color reproduction is rated at about 98% of the Rec. 2020 color gamut.
The Eclipse G3 supports native 4K resolution at up to 120Hz in 2D, as well as active 3D at 60Hz. It features 30,000 ANSI lumens brightness with an expected lifespan of 50,000 hours at full brightness.
Eclipse G3 has a simplified form factor with the projector head and light source in one chassis and a separate external chiller. The improved optical design reduces the risk of dust and dirt intrusion. With the external chiller, most of the heat and noise is remote from the projector, yielding quiet operation at just 45dB. In addition, the Eclipse is fully field-serviceable.
In addition, the G3 includes Christie Twist™ for warping and blending and supports optional Mystique™ automated camera-based alignment capabilities. Christie’s LiteLOC technology maintains color balance and brightness over time, regardless of fluctuations in ambient temperature. The Eclipse G3 is also compatible with most Christie 4K 3DLP ILS4 lenses.
